Will Snape finally gain position of DADA teacher?

I have been thinking about this recently.  I wonder if the reason 
Snape has not been given the post is reverse of what I had thought.

I wonder if Dumbledore is keeping the position from Snape because he 
knows the position is "cursed" and he is *protecting* Snape, as 
opposed to keeping it from for other reasons.  The trust issue and 
abuse of power issue would be enough on their own, but I wonder if 
that is not the case here.  Dumbledore trusts Snape with lots of 
important things.  Perhaps he is shielding him, like he tried to 
shield Harry and Sirius?
