I had thought that the cabbage smell was polyjuice potion.  This is not to say 
that Arabella couldn't be supplying Lupin w/ wolfsbane potion, however there 
is still the aspect of cost.  If wolfsbane is so expensive then how could she 
afford to keep purchasing the required ingredients?  Also, why has Harry 
never noticed Lupin, or _someone_ unusual, going and coming from this old 
lady's house?  He does say that she lives alone, and I would imagine frequent 
visits from an unknown visitor being noticed (especially w/ nosey Aunt 
Petunia).
