I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

while Ron was certainly no prince in this scene, neither was
Molly very mature in her reaction.

There was no reason for her to rub things in by saying how
she had picked out nice robes for Harry, especially to match
his eyes.

She could have taken Ron aside and spared him the
embarrassment in front of his friend.

Sometimes I wonder about Molly's adoration for Harry...
