I could see this happening.  Colin dies (somehow trying to save 
Harry), and Harry takes it upon himself, out of a sense of guilt and 
remorse, to become a sort of surrogate big brother to Dennis.  He's 
sort of experienced the "little brother" thing with the Weasleys.  
But really hasn't had the responsibility of being a "big brother" to 
anyone (Ginny doesn't count.  Besides, I think she's meant for Harry 
in another way ;)) Another lesson in responsibility and leadership 
for our hero.  

Toad (who is having to recall her Lamaze breathing in anticipation 
of the Blessed Event.)
