Here are two of my favorites for your consideration:

1) In GOF U.S. version, page 46, when the Weaselys have just broken through
the Dursley's fireplace...

"They run off eckeltricity, do they?" he [Mr. Weasely] said knowledgeably.
"Ah yes, I can see the plugs. I collect plugs," he added to Uncle Vernon.
"And batteries. Got a very large collection of batteries. My wife thinks I'm
mad, but there you are."

I cannot read the last line without laughing out load. "My wife thinks I'm
mad, but there you are."


2) In SS U.S. version, page 148, when Harry flies for the first time... I
find the description, well, sort of UPLIFTING...

He [Harry] mounted the broom and kicked hard against the ground and up, up
he soared; air rushed through his hair, and his robes whipped out behind
him -- and in a rush of fierce joy he realized he'd found something he could
do without being taught -- this was easy, this was WONDERFUL.
