Rosebeth (me):

Brooke, I agree that Draco's father is abusive.  I tend to think that 
explains a lot about Draco's behavor.  While I see the historical 
parallels that your drawing I think there is a huge difference 
between Draco and Snape.  We know that Snape turned against LV to 
work for DD.  I just don't see Draco making those similar kinds of 
choices.  Now granted we don't know what prompted Snapes change in 
behavor, but with the information we do have I don't think Draco has 
it in him to make the same choice.
