obvious thing and binds herself to Mrs. Weasley, and that it's Dobby 
who goes gonzo. I thought the house-elf thing was sort of Jar-Jar 
Binks until I read that house-elves are JKR's tweak of the shomaker's 
elves folklore -- they do all the shoemaker's work quite happily 
until his wife takes pity on their nakedness and sews them all little 
outfits; then they just as happily disappear forever.
