You may have a good point, but I think it may also be some of that former-Death Eater in him speaking. He probably called him "Dark Lord" for a while before turning from Voldemort, and sees no reason to change the name.
It's almost like Dumbledore's insistance that fearing Voldemort's name only increases fear of Voldemort himself. Maybe Snape feels that calling Voldemort something he's not used to calling him only makes Voldemort more important and powerful than he deserves to be.
