This is a WONDERFUL idea. Molly should give Ron the same amount of 
money she spent the year before on clothes, books, new potion 
ingredients, etc., add more for inflation and if they need something 
more than usual, and send Ron on his way.

See if the lad blows three-quarters of his stash on two brand-new 
items. Time to learn how to stretch a dollar, Ronniekins.

There's some financial guy that suggests parents do this. Give them a 
living allowance each month that's equal to what the parents spend on 
food, clothes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc... and see if the 
teenagers can manage it.
