Are we jumping to conclusions thinking that Harry
summoned a Patronus to protect himself from the
dementors?

Vinnia suggested:
What if it's to protect the Dursley? The dementors
could be trying to kiss Petunia/Vernon/Dudley. This is
a good opening to finding out more about the Dursley,
things that people do not expect.

I, Tom, add:
Yeah, and we're supposed to learn more about the Dursleys in this
book, too. At any rate, I don't see how it's a stretch to conclude
that Harry had to use magic to evade the dementors. I mean, Hermione
seems to be linking it all together, and she thinks quite laterally.

pickle_jimmy :
The location of the scene is an old house that appears
as though it could have belonged to a wizard(s) that
were not on the side of good (sorry if this is
convoluted - I am trying to not quote the audio
grab) - even down to the snake motif doorknob.

Vinnia :
Not necessarily. Houses, expecially those big old
ones, if haven't been look after, would have an eerie
feeling.

I wonder...could it be Godric Hollow? It's been
deserted for 14 years. Or maybe the Evans Manor? Or
even Slytherin Manor?
END.

Tom adds:
Well, I don't think it's the Potters' old house at Godric's Hollow,
because that house was in ruins when Hagrid extracted baby Harry. Did
the Evans family have a manor? Did Slytherin? Good questions.
