   I think the pensieve will be an important tool in the fight 
against the dark side, because it must have a lot of Dumbledore's 
memories in it from the last time Voldemort was in power... a lot of 
horrible, weighing-down memories that Dumbledore will have wanted to 
set aside in the meantime, enabling him to have room to concentrate 
on other matters. But now that the dark lord has risen again, it's 
going to be necessary to look back on history and find a few "battle 
tactics". It might actually be useful that these memories are in the 
pensieve rather than Dumbledore's head, because as the headmaster 
said the first time Harry visited his office, the pensieve really 
helps him to "pick out patterns" (or something along those lines... I 
don't have the book handy right now). There are a lot of 
possibilities with the pensieve... it could hide even more hidden 
clues yet to be discovered. After all, Dumbledore has pretty much 
been through it all, and what better memories to comb through at a 
time like this, than his?
