Me too - and I don't agree with it. The snake know need not be a
symbol of anything dark - or even be connected to Slytherin. Snake is
also a symbol of medical practice. Perhaps it is time to bring this
good side out for a chance.
Also, previous hints like "Harry will physically visit a magical
place he's never been before, mentioned in GoF" and "All clues are in
CoS".
Well, I think this Mystery House is St Mungos. Snake refers to
medical practise, Lockhart went there in the end of CoS and it is
mentioned at least _twice_ in GoF. Not to mention all the talk about
Harry's insanity, and that teenage boy laying on his back in the
flowerbed.
And if there's a place for Harry to meet the real Moody, St Mungos is
the most likely place. Like, maybe Moody realised that his distrust
isn't all that good idea after all, when Crouch Jr took full
advantage of that custom, how distrust serves Dark Wizards in general
more than it serves him - and decided to get his leg fixed.
