Something that I've noticed in all the death of book 5 theories is
that they tend to concentrate on the same people: Weasleys, Creeveys,
Professors of one time/sort or another, & Sirius.

What about all those *other* major characters? Can't they be fans of
Harry's, too? Trouble is, they tend to be evil.

The first person I think of, oddly enough, is Draco Malfoy. I've
always thought he was jealous of Harry, especially since that scene
in CoS, where Draco complains to his father about the Trio in Borgin
& Burkes (Knockturn Alley). He strikes me as a fan... of a sort.

He's a little two-dimensional, as a character, and his only real
function in the books seems to be as a foil for Harry and to provide
information about (and for) his father. But he's in every book, and
I think he qualifies as a major.

Here's the kicker: what if this horrible death was Lucius killing his
son? I can't imagine a worse thing for a mother to write, actually,
than a parent voluntarily killing their child.

Of course, I have no idea WHY'D Lucius would kill his only heir (that
we know of), and I'm not saying in any way that I expect dear Draco
to reform. It just strikes me as fulfilling the needs that JKR's
prescribed. [shrug]

So, that's my theory. Let me know what you think of it.
