IMHO, The girl Harry ends up with should be a great heroine, having
made sacrifices, and faced many hardships through her life, like
Harry.>>>>>>>>>

Oh, animagikat, why do you need to *settle* for a ship you don't seem all that enthused about?! No, no, no. I can offer you a better choice really. <eg> Don't you realize that the girl you're describing: a "great heroine" who has "made sacrifices" is none other than our beloved Hermione? As others have commented, Hermione really is the only female character who yet fits the bill of being a strong and developed enough character of the right age to pair off with Harry (IMO). I know we've also debated off & on over the years whether Hermione is the heroine or not, but as one poster noted earlier today, up until the Dementors arrived at the Lake in PoA, Hermione was at least equally instrumental in the outcome of events in PoA. I don't have the energy to try & write a nice essay on why I think Hermione might indeed qualify as "heroine" of the series, but I do think it's possible. I guess we might have more fodder one way or another in 4 days time! Whee.......
