"Morgan D."

> What kind of name is "Algie"? Could it possibly a nickname for
> Augustus?

A little searching delivered this info:

ALGERNON: Old French for "mustachioed." "Algie" is the nickname, so
be careful. Namesakes: Algernon Swinburne, FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON

JK's pretty good with the etymology thing. So if this source is
correct, 'Algie' is derived of 'Algernon'.

Here's another famous Algie-- Algernon Blackwood- A very likely
namesource for JKR if you read this bio. Briefly, from Kent, WW spy,
government official, writer, and friends with H.P. Lovecraft.

I don't remember where the name Algie lurks in the books. Until I
find some passages, I can't really make any connections or
speculations. Help, anyone?
