The opinion of most Potheads (my brother's name for HP fans)is that
the Chamber of Secrets is the worst of the series (so far). Why is
this. I think for several reasons. One, the book has three very
annoying characters (Lockhart, Dobby, and Colin) that slow down the
plot. Second, the whole thing with Nearly-Headless Nick and his
deathday party adds to the sluggishness and was totally unessential
to the plot. Third, the prolonged scenes with Moaning Myrtle were yet
another hinderence to the plot. Nevertheless, it is still a good
book, as are all the HP books. Some are just better than others.

Now me (Tonya)

I love that book, I love them all. I found that Lockhart resembles a
few people I have meet before. Overly arrogant and deceptive, someone
who believes themselves to be better then they truly are. Colin, I have
meet before also, He is not too sure of him self and so he goes
overboard in his excitement not a crime, he just needs to grow up a
little!! I must say that JKR describes their characters and their
oddities very very well. I have also heard that Chamber has a bunch of
for shadowing in it for future events. We have already seen more of
Dobby since Chamber. I also think that something will come from the
deathday party and Harry's relationship with Nick. otherwise it would
not have been in the book, JKR doesn't put frivolous events in her
books. Maybe we will find out soon!! Anyway my two sickles!!
