Hermione's new secret?

I have been re-reading GoF again to keep myself from going nutters 
until Friday, and I came across a potential major clue about 
Hermione.  At one point she tells Harry how she has been taking 
practice tests for the OWLs... a whole year ahead of time.  That 
clue, plus the fact that she's already very talented with a wand 
makes me think that Hermione may be very close to becoming an 
Amimagi...  think about it.  

She seems to worship McGonagall, she's always going on about how 
MgGonagall is so great at transfiguration, and she witnessed first 
hand how Sirius & Pettigrew transformed in the Shreiking Shack.  
Plus, I think I remember Lupin saying that by their FIFTH year, all 
of them had finally mastered the difficult amimagus spell.  I suspect 
she may have started working on transfiguring herself ever since they 
met Sirius.  Or maybe MgGonagall has been helping her with it... 
MgGonagall took a big risk in allowing Hermione to use the time-
turner.  

My prediction is, if Hermione does in fact become an animagus, she 
will be a cat like McGonagall (& Crookshanks!)
