I think Rita Skeeter is one of the most dangerous characters in the
story right now, and I think a lot of readers are overlooking her.
They think she was a cute little subplot that has been resolved.
However, if Rita plays her card wrong, lots of good people, people
very close to Harry could die.

She doesn't seem to have any conscience or good judgement regarding
the things she writes; much of which is down right irresponsible.
Hermione is asking her to give up SEVERAL of the all-time greatest
stories every in exchange for not being exposed as an animagus.

Let's weigh those side by side, a.) the greatest stories of the
century or b.) people find out she's unregistered? I don't think it
takes a rocket scientist to figure out which one she will choose.
Besides, what's the punishment for being unregistered; at stern
talking to, and a fine? Plus, her info gathering secret would be out.

If you want to read a really good Rita Skeeter thread, go back to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPforGrownups/message/48575
where a thread titled 'Things I don't understand' shift into a
discussion of Rita. There are a couple other good Rita thread around
that time too.

Just a thought.
