Oooh, great thought Ximena!  If the heads of house get to pick their 
prefects, you can be sure that Malfoy is in the running seeing as how 
Snape favors him so much.  I wonder if JKR will mention the prefects 
of the other two houses or the next head boy & girl?  Or maybe it 
won't be important enough to the storyline.  

On a similar note, does anyone have the feeling that the heads of 
houses and/or prefects of each house have character similarities to 
the house ghosts?  Or maybe the ghosts have a connection with the 
respective founder of their house (ie: bloody baron/ties to Salazar 
Slytherin?)  It seems to me like those ghosts have been in Hogwarts 
since the beginning...  hmmm
