No one has ever been able to find the 'fan' reference in a direct
quote, and this new 'main character' reference is also NOT part of a
direct quote. It is the author of the article paraphrasing why he/she
thinks JKR said. Most of the 'article' writer are more interested in
making interesting reading than they are in anything as mundane as the
facts.

I read the original interview which was not on MSNBC; a link to it can
be found at www.the-leaky-cauldron.org, and no where in it does JKR
say she killed of a main character Let's also remember that JKR cried
when she killed Cedric Diggory. 

Keep in mind that I'm not trying to invalidate any of the personal
points you made (sorry, I clipped them out). I'm just trying to keep
us focused on the facts.

Just a thought.
