Pat replies:

I'm not sure about this theory.  I think that if it were really, truly 
important, they would have included it in TMTMNBN.  My money for the 
"clue in CoS" is Hagrid waiting at his hut with a crossbow.  Yup, in the 
movie.  I think the Deathday Party was just a rather elaborate setup for 
meeting the Basilisk.  We'll know soon!!!
