It's true, something could have happened behind the scenes, but JKR 
tends to wrap things up pretty well at the end, and considering that 
it will probably be years before book 6, I would expect her to state 
it a bit more explicitly at the end, if anything substantial 
happened. Of course, I'm sure that the two of them grew much closer, 
setting things up, but if there had been a kiss or anything, it 
would have been mentioned by the end.
