There is no way that I am going to catch up on reading all these
posts today, so I am just going to post this. I am heartily sorry
for any redundancy. Here are my random thoughts.

1)It struck my at the end of the book that Kreacher sounds a lot
like creature, and to me he resembeled humans far less than Dobby.
Just a thought.....

2)Just what is up with Neville's mother and gum wrappers? IMHO she
is trying to communicate something, but for the life of me I cannot
determine what. This struck me as something that's going to have to
come in later.

3)It seemed to me that Harry's anger is controlling him and leading
him to make terrible mistakes. At the end of the book he seemed to
be transferring his feelings of guilt into feelings of hatred of
Snape, which would feel like a much 'safer' emotion to his psyche.
This makes me think that the beginning of book six is show Harry
having some truly awful realisations. He will most likely experience
another wave of guilt because a) his parents dies because of a
prophesy about him and b) if he had opened that present from Sirius
he would might have been able to contact Sirius and avoid the whole
MoM debacle. Sirius may have also had his feelings hurt because
Harry never used the mirror, and Harry's last discussion with Sirius
involved an acusation. Poor Harry. My hope for book six is that
Harry learns to channel his anger into something productive. If not
I'm afraid he's in for more devastating mistakes.

4)The end of the book was oddly uplifting despite the heavy
atmosphere. Sirius had clearly been missing James badly and was
trying to style Harry as James Jr. Now at least they're
reunited 'beyond the veil'. Beyond that the ministry now
acknowledges Voldemort's return, which made the Ministry show-down
necessary.

5)From the pensieve scene it seems that Harry has more of Lily's
personality than James';however James (most likely) did not spend
the vast majority of his childhood being mercilessly bullied. To be
quite honest we saw Harry act out the personality traits that Snape
has always accused him of having (arrogance, sense of entitlement,
disdain of authority, hero complex, headstrong, ect.) Most of this
stems from Hary having a particularly difficult adolescence. Most
kids go through a nasty angry stage at this time, but it's generally
directed at their parents (or parent figures). Harry doesn't really
have this outlet so he's taking it out on the world. Understandable,
but not at all pleasant. I hope that Harry gets through this stage
to gain true maturity rather than the sort that has been forced upon
him too early. I've rambled on, but is it possibly that Harry has
more of James' personality than we know? How well did James mature?
He must if gotten over his git stage to some extent if he got Lily
to consider him husband material.

And now some questions:

1)What was the "worse than death" thing thay Dumbledore wishes for
Voldemort?

2)Are the OoP still going to use 12 Grimmaude Place for they're
Headquarters? Will Belletrix LeStrange show up (she is family)?
Who's going to inherit the house?

3)What are they going to do about Kreacher?

4)Has Harry gotten his broom back?

5)Will Harry qualify to continue in Potions and otherwise qualify
for Auror training?

6)What is the Prefect/Headboy process? How did James manage to
become Head Boy?

7)What were the other memories Snape wanted to hide from Harry? Did
James proceed to remove Snape's underpants? (I doubt these will be
answered in anything other than fanfic)

8)How did James and Lily end up married any way.

I have many more, but I'm in too much of a post-Ootp funk to express
them.
