also, if the b;acks were so ... shall we say "well-connected" to the
darker side of the WW - wouldn't it stand to say that the malfoys
would know where it is? (what, lucius never had dinner at the inlaws?)

I think once a location is given to a secret keeper it doesn't matter who knew about it. I think people who knew about the Black manor before it became the OOP headquarters just can't access the memory anymore. Sort of ignore the fact that they ever even knew, you know?
