I'm sorry about not snipping, but for some reason, my puter won't let me! I agree about Lily. I knew a girl in high school like her. Voted Most Beautiful, Most Popular, ad nauseum, she would always come to the defense of geeks and outcasts, no matter how repulsive, who were being tortured by the jocks! An all around nice, yet disgustingly beautiful, girl!
About Sirius being gone forever...I agree! Without a body, and a wizard funeral, I don't buy it for a minute! So I didn't even get upset! Just pissed! Hasn't Harry had enough to deal with without the loss of his Father/Brother figure?

Wow... I just finished my first read and I feel like I need a Pensieve. I
found myself sitting there thinking 'boy I bet those (insert acronym of
choice here) supporters got a kick out of that!' a lot. I've only read a few
(very few) posts so I'm POSITIVE these have been brought up already but I
have to get this out of my head...

James, I liked the fact that he was an egotistical prat. I was getting a bit
tired of everyone getting all misty eyed every time they spoke about him. It
just didn't sit well with me. I admit it, while horrified (darn vivid
imagination and empathy for characters) I was smiling to myself thinking, 'I
knew he wasn't all perfect.' Not to mention I just heard Snape in the back
of my head snarling that part in PoA chapter 14, 'arrogant, strut, swollen
head', and he didn't do to much exaggerating by the looks of it (another
point for those out there who like to argue how fair Snape is, heh).

We got to see more about Lily. 'Bout time too! I like Lily! She's got honor
and doesn't take crap. I don't know about anyone else, but I now find it
plausible that Lily, some how, was the one who found out about The Prank and
told James to stop it.
I also like the bit of light shown on the Lily/Petunia relationship. I hope
we see more in the future.

Now... to Snape. A lot going on in this book with him. I was surprised how
*civil* he was. Strangely enough, I didn't find Snape's Worst Memory to be
the most interesting. As far as he is concerned (not MWPP or Lily) I found
the ones in chapter 26 much more "hmm" worthy.

This one sentence really got my attention, have nothing to comment as of
yet:
"-a hook-nosed man was shouting at a cowering woman, while a small
dark-haired boy cried in a corner..."

Finally, I found myself thinking, 'What if Harry had listened and tried to
get Snape to start teaching him again?' I mean after Snape had cooled off a
little (and been order to start teaching Harry again) what would have
happened?

Oh! How about this? Harry's_New_Father/Brother_Figure!Snape - Any takers?
I'm feeling rather twisted... lack of sleep you know.
