Rhianyn closes Order of the Phoenix and stretches mightily:
Well done Gred and Forge .... brilliantly done actually! I think their
leavetaking of Hogwarts may be one of the most memorable scenes in all the books.
And they've certainly been elevated to the top of my favorite "secondary
characters" list.
And Ginny! I may have to throw my lot in with the HG shippers. She is
definitely maturing into a young woman who would make an admirable match for Harry.
Great courage well tempere by a level head and more than enough fire and
feist to stand up to Harry, but a fine absence of Hermione's bossy boots bullying
to do the *right* thing at all times.
Percy *HIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS*
Arthur and Molly get a bit more well rounded here too. I thought Molly's
scene with the boggart was particularly well done, helping to bring home to Harry
that it isn't all a school lark. I think Molly's boggart may stick with him
as much as Cedrics death.
Bill and Fleur, I think we'll have to keep our eye on those two :)
I'm glad to see Ron starting to realize that the things he wants in life have
to be worked for. I think before he tended to believe that "If only I were
prefect and if only I were on the Qudditch Team my life would be perfect". I
think he's beginning to see that while those things are great to be, they also
entail a lot of work, it's not all going to be handed to him. And he has to
do his own homework too! :P Does anyone else see his relationship with
Hermione starting to draw itself along the same lines and Arthur and Mollys? Molly
tends to boss Arthur a bit, but also expresses her love in part by taking very
good care of him. Hermione really tries to take care of everyone as well,
right down to their homework planners for Christmas (what a typical Hermione
present :D)
I'm still mulling major themes in the book, but am starting to lean toward
those that think it's taking on a certain slant toward a WWII, Nazi allegory
much more than so than the broader Narnia like Christian allegory that the
Inkling afficianados seem to want to foist 'pon it.
I'm sure I'll have more thoughts after proper digestation and fomentation (as
opposed to fermentation) of the text and of the many posts here. (It's
strangely fascinating to listen to the rapid rate at which mail is coming to the
list. I get a subtle clicking sound with each new piece of mail into my box and
it's sounded rather like an old fashioned ticking clock the past half hour)
