Quick introduction: Hi, I'm Jennifer, 29, from Alabama, new list
member.

Now for Draco: I fear that we've arrived at the point of Draco:
Irredeemably Evil (DIE).

For me, Narcissa as a positive influence in his homelife was an
important part of redemption scenario. Narcissa as Bellatrix's
sister, still allowed on the tapestry, does not seem to be that
influence.

Draco shows himself as a power mad Daddy's boy. Sure, we've always
known this, but I had hoped it would start to change. Dad is in
jail, removed from a direct influence, and I don't think Draco is
going "Wow. Now I can form my own opinions and make my own way." He
seems more "Dad better be out of jail soon so we can plot revenge on
those mudbloods and half-breeds."

I'll miss my Harry/Draco. I don't think many will be inspired to
write it after this.

Jennifer

I'm not sure about Draco staying "Irredeemably Evil" throughout the series. JKR isn't likely to spend so much time on a character that isn't going to change and develop somehow. Not saying he won't stay a prat - just saying he might surprise us. Also, Hermione has begun to think seriously about interhouse cooperation; I'm sure we'll see this theme continued later. As for Narcissa as Bellatrix's sister, remember that Andromeda was also Narcissa's sister, and Tonks is apparently Draco's first cousin. You can use other text evidence for evil!Draco, but I'm not sure you can use bloodlines.
