Guys...Remember the time period! This was the 70's. Everyone at this 
time called each other by last names if they were not really friends--
-It was the way of things!  
It was also a great way to show what Lily's last name was!  I think 
it was a fun way to introduce this concept.  Harry had no idea what 
his mother's maiden name was before this.  Why not find out from his 
father?  Especially in someone else's memory.
