I'm afraid I have to disagree with your theory Andrea, although I do
like your thoughts about Petunia being raised in the wizarding world
and having much much more knowledge about it than she has ever let
on. There has to be a reason to of WHY she is so respectful of DD.
Would she really go against Vernon if she didn't know DD from a bar
of soap?
> Aunt Petunia is not a muggle, not a squib, but a full-fledged witch.
Is it possible that Petunia & Lily's parents were Squibs? Think about
how overjoyed Petunia says her parents were when Lily recieved her
letter informing her that she was to attend Hogwarts. Why would they
be so overjoyed if Hogwarts is a part of the world that they don't
know about. I can't recall Hermione ever saying that her parents were
thrilled when she received her letter and we know for a fact that
they're muggles.
> Yes my friends, a witch. Did she go to Hogwarts? did she stay
through OWL's or NEWT? Dunno.
I doubt Petunia went to Hogwarts. Referring to PS she tells of Lily
getting her letter, but possibly her bitterness about Lily's powers
is a result of the fact that she DIDN'T get one also?
> I tried looking up to see if we know Lily was an older or younger
sister. If Lily was older, their parents might have forbid Petunia to
go, even if she received a letter, if they thought Lily was a freak?
Again in PS Petunia refers to how proud her parents were of Lily when
she received her letter, so I doubt their parents thought that she
was a freak. If my theory of them being Squibs is true, then if
Petunia had received a letter as well, I'm sure they would have been
over the moon.
