HERE ARE SEVERAL Questions and Inconsistencies THAT I HAVE AFTER
READING OOTP.
Arya:
4. Snape's pensieve:
Why were Lily and James calling each other "Potter" and "Evans"? I thought
we had from a chat/interview with JKR that they were both in Gryffindor--
calling each other by last names does not seem to be something one would
do to housemates. In fact you rarely see it across any other houses but
Slytherin and Gryffindor. So......what house was Lily in???
Me:
Lily was in Gryffindor--that's been confirmed by JKR. James' is a bit more dubious. Someone asked her what position James played on the Gryffindor quidditch team, JKR answered Chaser. So she didn't /refute/ the fact that he was a Gryffindor. I'm, personally, of the opinion that the whole gang was in Gryffindor. But Lily /obviously/ doesn't like James at /all/, which may account for her calling him Potter. And James may just return this behavior.
Arya:
14. Does anyone know about Harry's attempt to use Crucio on Bellatrix? This
was the most un-canon-like thing in the book. I just don't believe it. If it
were
not JKR, I would flame the author.
Me:
I found this one of the most interesting things in the books. And yes, I liked it. I found it totally believeable. Harry is positively uncontrollable with rage and hatred. The last of his family has just been killed by this gloating, arrogant DE. It's like him attacking Sirius in the Shrieking Shack, but with no one to hold him back, and even worse, because this death /just/ happened.
Arya:
16. How do prophecies get recorded? Is it automatic? Is there a record of
Trewlaney's second prediction to Harry at the end of PoA? Probably No and
No because then the second rise of Voldemort would have been believed to
whomever works in DoM and would probably have had to go over newly
recorded/made prophecies. So, they why was the first prophecy sent to be
archived and reported? (Note: on the sphere it says the initials who made the
prophecy and to whom.)
Me:
I was wondering that myself. I was wondering if perhaps it worked a bit like the Pensieve--that whoever the prophecy was said in front of could have it then recorded in that manner.
