me:
Hagrid is a great gameskeeper and a wonderful friend, but he just
isn't a good teacher. He sholdn't leave Hogwarts, he should just go
back to his old job and let Grubbly-Plank or someone else take over
for the CoMC class.

me:
When Harry and Co. first arrived, the MoM was eerily empty, if I
recall correctly. And when they got to the prophecy room, there was
a whole gaggle of Death Eaters waiting. They probably blasted
through anyone that was on guard duty. Sirius being able to waltz
right in is rather trivial when you see that a whole group of Death
Eaters had waltzed in ahead of him with no repercussion.

me:
First off, I don't think it's totally "duh." I think somebody
mentioned before, what seems obvious to us in the literary world is
often not obvious to the characters. Harry's trying to live his
life and be a kid; he knows that Voldemort is evil and keeps coming
after him, but that doesn't mean he believes it's his job to take on
the Dark Lord singlehandedly. He's worrying about exams, and girls,
and friends. If nothing else, the prophecy served as a way to
finally put the message concretely. Even if Harry or anyone else
had a suspicion that he had to take on Voldemort, the prophecy
solidifies it for the characters and makes it real.

And who says JKR won't leave the world screwed over? ;) Probably
not likely, but possible. I personally think that Harry and
Voldemort may end up killing each other, like King Arthur and
Mordred.
