Close, but not the same. I think there's a slight nuance here. JKR 
does aknowledge that you are born into somethings more that I felt 
was stated in yours. To me it sounded like you felt everything could 
be controlled by choice ... Maybe I'm just being silly.

Dumbledore says this is what the prophecy MEANS. He does not say that 
it is what Harry will DO. So, I guess we are basically in the same 
camp about this. I just wanted to clarify that JKR does aknowledge 
circumstances can be beyond your control. That's why I think the 
prophecy fits perfectly into JKR's viewpoint and isn't going "against 
everything the books say," as you said it was.
