I don't think that Snape is a vampire... After what James Potter and
Sirius Black put Snape through, would you want to eat at Black's
house? He might try and poison Snape!

Snape needed to use his wand, and a spell to read Harry's mind. I'm
not sure if it is always like this, but that is something to consider.
And the fact that Harry knew when Snape was reading his mind and vice
versa.

I'd love to know the answer to that as well... But again, Snape was
walking around in broad daylight.
