Does anyone else have any theories on Petunia's back-story?

Me:
I've always thought that Petunia's hatred of the Wizarding World came from when Lily was killed because of it. Honestly. I think she was just so hurt by that that she morphed into what she is now. And James automatically came under the hatred list, because he helped drag her into it. I don't think Petunia was always so horrible as she is today. And I think this makes her knowledge of the WW more understandable: she would listen to Lily talk about it, with interest, even.
