I am sensing you are quite right about the next big adventure, but I
envision it differently to you. Looking at the prophecy I see a third
person in it. I am thinking that the WW and all of us are taking it
too far for granted that it only pertains to two.

had ambition, never seriously considered life outside of Hogwarts.

With this I agree totally. Harry almost entirely decided to say he
wanted to be an Auror at the last second ,I believe, based on Rons
interest in it and a reflection on Crouch!Moodys comments the
previous year. I distinctly remember Harry's personal interest in an
Auror career dissappearing rapidly after it was mentioned. Harry
never really wanted to be an Auror, or anything for that matter, but
happy in a loving home.

With this I disagree, in part, because, I believe Harry, at no time,
ever expected that he would need to kill Voldemort.
Now he needs to seriously consider himself as a killer of somebody
Harry may find himself unable to think happily about any time
afterwards.
>From this I am deducing that Harry will be able to see another future
purpose for himself. Conquering Death. Much like Voldemort pursued
the quest for immortality Harry will pursue a different type of
conquest over death.
He does not want to kill. But he has to. So Harry will do the one
thing that he really needs, to face his future. He will try to
understand it.

Again, I agree beyond any doubt.
Harry will lay down his life for the ones he loves with out a second
thought. I'm not really sure how that will happen, if it does.
