Ack.  I just don't know where to clip because I like your train of 
thought on this.  We saw a clippet of what actually happened on that 
day and on the interaction between JP, SB, and SS.   

We don't know if that wasn't the worst part of the day.  Harry didn't 
hang out with Snape, he didn't see or listen to SS, he went over to 
hang out with MWPP.  So, maybe it was his worst memory because he 
didn't receive the O.W.Ls in order to be the DADA or to be an Auror?

I just don't want to make any definite decisions until JKR does some 
interviews & the next book comes out.

The truth is James grew up to be an amazing person that he would lay 
down his life for his wife & his child.  He obviously grew up.
