Me (Calliope):
Even me, a determined non-nitpicker, is starting to notice these things. I'm
finding it very hard to believe that these books are being edited. I've had
conversations with people before that lead me to believe that her editors are
either scared to question her, or that they assume "oh, she'll explain it later"
and brush it aside. It's a bit ridiculous. I doubt she's told her editors her
plans for the future books, which is silly; if she'd clue them in on the basic
plotline, they could really help her with these loose ends.
I love the book, I really do, but the mountain of Flints is eroding that very
quickly.
