Oh, my.  That's exactly the speculation that was nagging me.  711 is 
the number of Sirius' Gringotts vault...a detail that was edited out 
of the American version of the books.  Perhaps because the editors 
told J.K. Rowlings that her trick wouldn't come off because of the 
illustrations?  I assume that these numbers aren't a crazy 
coincidence...that, frankly, gives me chills.  Whew.
