I agree with EJ; I never got much feeling for that much closeness
between Harry and Sirius. That may not be helped that I haven't read
the first four books for a while and the fact I've rushed a bit
though OOP, but Harry's reaction seems very strong. This is also not
helped by the suddenness and uncertainty of Sirius's death; Firstly,
only a few paragraphs separate Sirius laughing at Bellatrix and his
complete disappearance. Secondly we are not told specifically the
curse which Bellatrix puts on Sirius; Harry seems to think he will be
all right, but behind the curtain. Lupin (?) tells Harry that Sirius
is dead, but is this just because he has fallen into (presumably) an
area where Ministry wizards are investigating death (while still
alive, not through death?). I'm still not sure Sirius will not be
back in a later book, either if we find out he never really died, or
because the wizards will do more research or something
