According to the prophecy, Dumbledore could not have finished VM off
if he wanted to. That is for Harry to do. DD was actually
frightened when he entrapped VM in the crystalized water prison, only
for VM to escape by disappearing. DD did not know what to expect
after that. He Might have been enough to defeat a mortal Grindelwald
50 years earlier, but he is no match for TOm VM.

Nor is HArry. Harry couldn't even do a Cruciatus curse right now.
Harry's big challenge is that he must become a killer. DD's big
conundrum is how to make Harry a killer and yet maintain his humanity.

This makes for the most interesting moral dilemna of the remaining
books, can anyone so young train to kill, and not be permanently and
negaively affected? What kind of person can go into battle with the
sole intention of depriving another of life, and call himself good?
And can Harry manage to kill in clod blood, or will he have to
maintain his anger about his parents, Sirius and the cupboard under
the stair until he finishes the job? Which motivation will make him
more effective, which is more corrosive? Will he ever recover?

I cant wait to find out. MAF
