:( Poor Rachel - CBBC had an article on the number of broken-
hearted readers, as well! When Arthur was bitten, I was stunned. I
thought, "She actually killed of Mr. Weasley!!!!!" - I hadn't seen
that coming. On the first reading, Sirius' death left us somewhat
bewildered - was he or wasn't he? But after reading further, DD and
Nick seemed to answer that for us. I read the book aloud to our
family, and teared up when Harry imagined Phineas going from
portrait to portrait all over the Black house looking for Sirius.
Isn't that the way it happens with a death IRL? We wonder around
the rooms where the person once was, feeling like they could be just
in the next room - but they're gone. :(

me:
I didn't cry on the first read. I was too stunned to react. But
when I re-read the book last night and got to the part where Sirius,
as a dog, said goodbye to Harry at Platform 9 3/4, sigh, Niagara
Falls.
