If, as listed in the DP, Lucius is 41, he was 27 when Voldiekins took his 
enforced sabbatical 14 years ago.  In addition, he's 4-6 years older than 
Snape/the Marauders - therefore, he'd already have left school at the time of Snape's 
OWLs.
