The Sergeant Majorette says:

Don't be. I tried to catch up with hundreds of posts in a growing
list and started to hyperventilate. After the first five hundred
posts, you have to vent, before book VI comes out.

At any rate, isolated populations die out for lack of genetic
diversity (weak genes that naturally stay recessive become dominant.
sterility ensues). The Weasleys seem to be the only pureblood family
that can reproduce pretty much at will. Even where there is no overt
anti-muggle prejudice, there seems to be a cultural distance that
precludes the kind of cross pollination that keeps a species robust.
