This discussion points again to a certain fuzziness concerning Sirius
and his family. If, when he left home as Mr. Blood Traitor, was he
disowned? And, if he had been disowned, and not given anything in
his parents' will(s), could he inherit it anyway simply because he's
the last living direct descendent?
If Sirius couldn't inherit under those circumstances, then it would
imply that his parents never disowned him. Seems a bit of an
oversight by the vituperitive Mrs. Black.
And another thing about the house. In one of Mrs. Black's screeching
fits she carries on about the vile filth besmirching the "house of my
fathers" (paraphrase). That would seem to imply that it was her
house, and not something that came from the Black side of the
family.
