I don't call bullying normal, but as James evidently improved with
age, the memory tells me that either James never improved in his
behavior toward Snape or that Snape is emotionally deficient at never
having moved past it. It also probably indicates a part of why Snape
temporarily went to the other side. It certainly explains his ongoing
hatred for Harry -- a hatred I suspect will lessen in book 7.

Or!!!! perhaps she knew James and Snape from her truncated attendance
at Hogwarts. I'm still hopeful she turns out to be witchy.
