OOP: a try to sum the main points of the post in HPFGU for the last days (spoiler)

I've tried to read all the post since the hpfgu opened again (I'm in 
holiday so I've some time ;-)) I want to try to write a summary of 
the what have been the mains topics. I've read sometime the post 
pretty fast so I apologize If I've made errors :

The mains points of the different posts are :

*The flints and inconsistency  : there are two complaints which came 
pretty often : 

1 : why Harry have not seen the Thestrals at the end of GoF. Indeed 
this is after the death of cedric so he should have seen  them (and 
on a related level why he has not seen since his first year after 
all he is supposed to have seen his parent dying). Some say that to 
see them you must understand the meaning of the death (which a baby 
can't do) .
2 : why Harry don't use the sirius' mirror  ; the explanation being 
that JKR seems to have forget about the mirror to it's normal in 
such a stressful situation..


 The prophecy : 

There are several problem with the prophecy, in which way the 
prophecy can be described as a weapon (some says that the weapon is 
in fact Harry), what can be his utility for Voldemort and what's his 
exact meaning (is the prophecy about Harry, about Neville, about 
both) and what role is going Neville to play (opinion varying 
between none and been the voldemort's killer)

 Neville :

Everybody seems to be happy with Neville growth as a character and 
place in the prophecy, discussion are about what is the real power 
of Neville (will N be more powerful with his own wand some think so 
but a new wand has not improve a lot Ron powers?) and what will be 
his role in the future.

 Snape and James (and the marauder) 

The scene in the pensieve divide the hpfgu's community . Nearly 
everybody agree that the bullying of Snape was horrible but there 
are discussion about the judgment about James (varying from "James 
was like draco or worse" to" there more thing before we can judge 
him") even if nearly everybody agree that that make James more human
On a related note there discussion about what credit we can give to 
pensieve scene are they memory (so can be  biased ) or the truth 
with the problem been that there some part of the scene that snape 
can possibly haven known.

The death of Sirius

There are discussion about the impact of the death and "sa raison 
d'être" some say that the death allow Harry to grow up.
On a side note we can note that some people have an harsh judgment 
about Sirius because of the bullying of Snape and the absence of 
remorse.

	Luna 

People seems to like the news characters and Luna is plebiscite with 
her strange habit, some see her as a reverse Hermione. But there 
some post which point that there are a lot of thing about her that 
we don't know (maybe a spy)


	Ship 

There few ship post , but there are some which say that with her 
character expanded a h/g ship is more likely, there are also remark 
about the lack of  R/H progress .
But the main part of the ship post are about the end of H/C which is 
globally accepted as well written with problem been shared on the 
two side.

	Petunia 
The early part of OOTP show that there are more about Petunia and 
the magic world we would have guessed , so the question are is 
Petunia a repressed witch, and squid ?

Expectation for future books ::

With the end of ootp begin the question about future books the main 
popular are who is going to be quidditch captain next years, what 
job will Harry do (if he survived) 


So this is the main point I've read in the few hundred post there 
written of memory so there could be error or inexactitude hope this 
could be of any help for furthers discursions.
