Can someone remind me if Sirius says that Snape knew more curses and
jinxes than anyone when he came to school if if he said he knew more about
the Dark Arts? Because I remember it as being the former but could well be
confused. If he did say curses and jinxes however then isn't it interesting
that we're supposed to think badly about Snape because of that but we're
supposed to think well of Hermione, who certainly knows more magical theory
than the other first years if not necessarily practice, and Harry, who seems
to have a greater knowledge of curses and stuff than the rest of his year in
OotP. When Snape is linked to knowing curses it's seen as a bad thing but
when Umbridge tries suggesting that they shouldn't learn jinxes, that's seen
as stupid by Hermione.
