Hermione's shown the capability to break rules in the past -- at one
point in CoS if you recall, Ron is amazed by the rules she's
breaking. That didn't surprise me much at all.

Exactly who's ass did she kick? I liked her stand-up to Dolores
during Harry's career choice meeting, but other than that, she got
blasted nearly to death by her Aurors.

I had this strange flash of Harry subbing in DADA next year... then
I quickly poo-pooed it. Still, I liked his show of leadership across
houses here too.

KikAss!Neville seems a bit of an overstatement. He did well in
Harry's class, but I was hoping to see him accomplish more than get
beat up rather badly in the MoM. I wouldn't have minded seeing him
have a go at Crabbe and Goyle again (he's already showed why he's in
Gryffindor, IMO, many times.)

I didn't think it was always that obvious. It seemed to be up front,
but later, I wondered if it wasn't Harry instead. Or maybe none of
them.

It'd be neat to see Lupin kinda fall into the "father figure" role
for Harry just a bit. In many ways, he's been the best candidate all
along.

Why Jamaican? Loads of black people from all kinds of places in the
UK.

Curiously, I was much more moved by Harry's reaction to the death
than the death itself. Sirius was certainly likable for the most
part, but never developed enough as a character for me to truly miss
him.
