Please forgive me if this has been brought up. I've been reading, and
reading and reading, and replying here and there, and reading some
more and I haven't as of yet seen this addressed, sorry if it has been.
Does anyone else think that DA will continue? I really feel like, DA
is now more of a Student Branch of the Order. Regardless of how worthy
the DADA professor will be, and we really haven't seen too many of
those, I think the group will and should carry on given that they will
still need to protect themselves. (and are behind having dealt with
Lockheart, and Umbridge, I don't even remember now what, if anything,
they learned from Quirrell... hmmm... maybe time to re-read SS Again)
If the DADA professor is worthy and maybe from the Order, (Mrs
Weasley?, Tonks would be REALLY cool, but she is probably needed as an
Auror) then maybe they can help teach the DA's as well, even though
Harry seemed to be doing pretty well on his own. Plus I like the unity
it is starting to bring between some of the other houses and that we
are seeing some more of them. Surely not all of the Order were in
Gryffendor. (Well there is Snape for a start) and if they are to be
successful they need people with different strengths and talents.
(Think we'll see any Slytherins recruited? Malfoy has a change of
heart now that daddy is in prison?... nah, probably not.)
I kept wondering when they had time to even get to know the other
students from the other houses.. they sit with their house at meals,
study in their common rooms, the sporting teams (is anything other
than Quidditch mentioned?) seem to be all house related. (unless the
stuff like Gobstones were intermingled) Gryffendor has never (that I
recall) had classes with Revenclaw students. They've had Herbology
with the Hufflepuffs, and any number of classes with Slytherin, is
astronomy everyone together? or some other class that we don't see?
Yet a lot of the dating couples have been with students outside their
houses. (even Percy had a non-Gryffendor girlfriend) (although maybe
his year had classes with her) It seems that the school is really
really segregated and there is almost no time or encouragement of it.
I guess that Electives like Arithmancy might contain some of these
other students, but Divination is only Gryffendors (or they are the
only ones ever mentioned). (Do enough of the other houses take it that
it warrants other classes of it in the same year?)
Anyway I'd really like to see D.A. continued, as it starts to show
some unity that they will need in the fight against the Evil Lord
Thingy as the sorting hat and Dumbledore have implied.
