In keeping with the Voldemort=Herod thoughts... Kristini says above, 
why did V have to kill James but not Lily?  
This could not possibly be true (unless James had an identical twin 
that we don't know about), but I thought I would throw it out 
anyway... If Harry=Jesus, Lily=Mary, James=Joseph... then James would 
not be the genetic father of Harry.  Okay, now that I've written it 
down, it sounds utterly ridiculous as I feel quite sure that Harry is 
indeed James' son...  although he doesn't seem to have the same 
disposition as the young James did, does he?  Ba - I am talking 
nonsense!
